Shiatsu is a Japanese bodywork form that originated from Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practitioner uses thumbs, palms, and sometimes elbows to apply pressure on meridians: energy pathways in the body. This pressure stimulates the flow of ki (life energy). Shiatsu helps the body relax, promotes balance in the nervous system, and supports recovery from tension, stress, and fatigue.
